Do I need to teach my AI agent about my industry, and can I stop it from talking about certain topics?

You do not need to teach it your industry. The AI models are trained on the whole internet, so they already have strong general knowledge of nearly every field, such as real estate.

What they do not know is the specifics of your business. Give it those as business facts, for example a fact sheet with your figures, such as sales volume, or anything else it could not know otherwise.

You can restrict what it talks about in the instructions. Tell it which topics not to discuss, and what to say instead. For example, tell it to refer legal or title questions to an attorney, and not to quote interest rates. Then add a broad catch-all, such as not discussing any topic that might be sensitive. Be specific and broad at the same time.
